Since 2022 Movie Madness was such a hit, The Circuit is doubling-down! We're back with the latest edition of the brackets; Superhero Movie Madness! The 33 (arguably) best superhero movies of all-time thrown into one field of chaos! Follow the link to check out the episode and play along with all the madness!

----------------------------------------- Bracket Spoilers Lie Ahead-------------------------------------

Here's who was on the famous "Committee" for the Superhero Movie Madness selection process:

- Neve Campbell

- Charles Barkley

- Stephanie McMahon

- Patton Oswald

- Lindsay Lohan

- Dr. Oz

- Fergie

- Blake Shelton

- Candace Parker

And unfortunately, we reached out to Hillary Clinton but she didn't check her emails, and Donald Trump was a little preoccupied at the moment. Oh well.

Here's how the brackets broke down, in order to ensure fair and equal paths to the championship:

- 16 MCU films (4 per region, none paired against each other in the first round)

- 4 Batman films (1 per region)

- 4 X-Men/X-Men adjacent films (1 per region)

- 4 Spider-Man films (1 per region; 2 of these were included in the MCU films, 2 were not)

- 7 Extra films

Now off to the regions! Let's start with the top overall seed out in the West Region in San Francisco, CA:

We had chalk most of the way out in the West, with the exception of Tony Stark! The billionaire playboy fell victim to X-2 in a first round upset, and then not even his avenger friends could save him in the Elite 8 against one of the original superhero movies; Batman '89!

We're going to stay on that side of the bracket and head to Wakanda for the South Region, where the winner will take on the Caped Crusader in the Fin Four!

Anarchy! Complete and total anarchy in the South region. A 2-seed going home in the first round, followed swiftly by the 1-seed in the second round! In a showdown of MCU classics, Thor: Ragnarok was able to out-duel Spider-Man: Homecoming to reach the Fin Four, where Batman '89 awaits!

Now let's head to the other side of the bracket and look at the second overall seed in the North Region in Chicago (because that's where it was filmed and I needed a North movie. Sue me)!

A return to form in the North, with the only upset occurring in the 2 vs. 3 matchup (controversial nonetheless). In the end, not even the unstoppable force that is old man Logan could stop the immovable object, The Dark Knight. Two Batmen running around in the Fin Four! Who could've guessed? Probably everyone, these movies rock.

Finally, we'll head to Queens for the East Regional to see who will round out the Fin Four and take on The Dark Knight!

A microscopic upset in the first round with Ant-Man taking out Wonder Woman, but the rest of the bracket was relative chalk. In perhaps the best matchup of the entire tournament, Into the Spiderverse was able to knock out MCU titan Avengers: Infinity War... maybe Thor should have gone for the head in that matchup.

There it is! Not what I expected, and definitely not what was on my vision board. The Fin Four is set; 2 Batman '89 (West) vs. 5 Thor: Ragnarok (South), and 1 The Dark Knight (North) vs. 1 Into the Spiderverse (East)! Who took home the gold, and who won the secret 3rd-place game???

Into the Spiderverse!!!!! To say it was an upset feels disingenuous; it was a 1-seed. But with so many classic MCU films, not to mention the runner-up that started the superhero movement, this was quite an impressive run. Congrats to Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Peter Porker and the rest of the Spiderverse gang! And congrats to Thor: Ragnarok for a HUGE upset in the 3rd-place match, upsetting The Dark Knight and sending Bruce Wayne home with as many medals as parents; 0.

There you have it! Make sure to check back in for more great Movie Madness content here at The Circuit! Next up: Sports Movie Madness in July!
